Is there any happy medium in Female Bodybuilding?

That is where women can workout, get strong, build muscle, stay feminine and avoid the nasty ‘roid’ remarks? I say that because I believe this endeavor receives too much negativity.
I thought that was very insightful and straight forward input Brad and no, not sexist.

Most female bodybuilders look great, don’t use roids…only a select few do, and it tars the whole game.

Only top level NABBA and IFBB pros will ever look like that, which really is about 0.5% of female bodybuilders.

There is figure and fitness, which is like soft bodybuilding, but that stil gets negativity.

It’s just a discipline that attracts hate. I always find it interesting as a female bodybuilder myself. We are normally around 120lbs, but for some reason 200lb women tell us we are big. Uh, okay.

It’s one of those things that is “okay” to do. It’s considered fine to insult female bodybuilders, but if you call a fat person fat, then that’s rude.

It’s the way it goes. And myself, and all my friends, always notice the greatest insults come from those in the worst shape. Women or men in shape will make positive comments, the more out of shape someone is, the worst comments they make.

I am a 16 year old guy, and have been working out for the past year and a half… sor some reason tho, i do not get a lot of gains (for example, my biceps have remained at 12 inches for about a half a year, and lately have only grown to about 12 1/2 inches… also, my pecs, wihch i started workin out about a year ago ahve made some gains, but nothing big).. so my question is, to all the NATURAL bodybuilders out there… how long did it take to get those 18 inch biceps and those 50 inch chests?? also, considering that im only about 5 feet 6 inches tall, could my height stop me from getting bigger gains.. also, final question, did working out at an early age, such as 14 and a half years old stun my growth, or is it just something genetic (,my mom is 5 feet tall, my father 5 feet 10 inches, and my brother the same as my father) – just a random question, will igrow to be any taller (im 5 feet 6 inches and am 16 years old)

You may never GET 18″ biceps and a 50″ chest. I compete in NANBF sanctioned contests (urine test at every contest AND a lie detector test….valid for 6 months…..that you’ve been drug free….steroids and/or HGH…for 7 years) and natural means natural!! You get what you get, based on your genetics, diet and training. I’ve met natural bodybuilders that put the IFFB guys to shame with their definition AND size.
And lack of “bigger gains” usually means that you’ve been doing the same routine for too long. Time to shake it up a little and change your whole workouts!! Try a different split with different exercises for each bodypart. Or start using heavier weights and less reps…or less weights, more reps. ANYTHING to change what your body has, obviously, gotten used to. Once every two months, I do what’s called a Century program, which is nothing more than 1 set of 100 for each exercise. Sounds simple and easy, but trust me…by rep 65 or 68, you are DYING!!!!! It really shakes up your body!
As for stunted growth due to weight training…no! The growth plates in teens are NOT affected by weight training. If anything, the production of more testosterone will help you grow, not prevent it.
Keep up the training, and try shaking up your routine. And you are smart…very smart…for staying natural and not looking for “quick growth” via drug enhancements!!!
